The Backpacker is a lightweight integrated backpacking stove built for real meals, not just boiling water. At just 9.2 oz, it combines one of the lightest fully integrated backpacking stove systems available with a generous 1.2 L hard-anodized aluminum pot that's large enough to cook for two or even three people. It packs into one compact kit, lights with the push of a button, boils 500 mL of water in about 2½ minutes, and includes everything you need to start cooking except fuel.

Why it belongs in your pack

  • Light enough to carry. Big enough to share. At just 9.2 oz, the Backpacker includes a real 1.2 L pot that's large enough for meals, coffee, and hot drinks for two or even three people.
  • Everything you need, right out of the box. Includes the burner, 1.2 L hard-anodized aluminum pot, strainer lid, insulated cozy with dual handles, nesting bowl, click-in pot supports, and pack towel. Just add a standard EN417 isobutane fuel canister.
  • Fast and fuel efficient. The built-in Piezo igniter lights with the push of a button, and the integrated heat exchanger boils 500 mL of water in about 2½ minutes while improving fuel efficiency.
  • Packs into one compact kit. The burner, pot supports, pack towel, and either a 100 g or 230 g fuel canister all nest neatly inside the pot for quiet, organized storage.
  • Cook more than freeze-dried meals. The adjustable flame lets you simmer, while the included pot supports work with most backpacking pots, skillets, and kettles you already own.
  • Built for years of adventure. Durable materials include a hard-anodized aluminum pot, stainless steel, brass, and aluminum burner components, and a weather-resistant neoprene cozy. Backed by our 3-Year Limited Warranty.

Designed and tested in the mountains of California.

More benefits

With a full 1.2 L pot you have room to cook for two or three — or boil enough for a proper cup of coffee and a full bowl of oatmeal in one go. The easy-pour strainer lid means no dribbles, spills, or scalds; the insulating neoprene cozy keeps your hands safe; and two hand-hugging handles make the pot easy to hold for smaller hands (and keep cold fingers warm).

Key Features

  • Boils 500 mL of water in just 2.5 minutes (150 s) — so hot food and drinks are ready when you want them
  • High efficiency: uses only ~5 g of fuel to boil 500 mL of water
  • A full 1.2 L pot means you can cook more at once — everyone gets their morning coffee, tea, or oatmeal at the same time, with no waiting or taking turns
  • Effortless packing, even with a larger 230 g canister — no more digging through your pack, it all nests together
